My favorite type of dog is the Cairn Terrier. I have a Cairn Terrier and his name is Haggis. The most famous Cairn Terrier is Toto of The Wizard of Oz. I will tell you about their appearance, the history, and their personality.

  These dogs have an interesting appearance. First of all, these dogs are very small. They weigh from 13 to 16 pounds. They have very wiry hair that comes in colors of black, gray, blond, brown, or brindle. They definitely have no disheveled life after playing in the yard all day.

         Cairn Terriers originate from the Isle of Skye, Scotland. They were traditionally used on a farm. Farmers used them to kill rats, otters, and foxes. They dig and dig to kill them. They were also used to protect small places like hen houses. Cairns are closely related to the Westie, Norwich, Norfolk, and Scottie Dogs. The word Cairn means a small monument made of stones into a mound.

         Cairn Terriers have a great personality. They absolutely love people. Their main job is to protect their families. If you put him on your lap he will want to wriggle out because he would rather explore, play lively games, or guard his family. Cairns are very serious. If they see an animal to go after, they will go through as many obstacles as it takes. They also are very content, never complaining about anything.

         I love having Haggis as my dog. He is very fun to have around. He has a great personality and really knows how to make things fun.
